Where Are They Now?

Brittney Allen - West Virginia Wesleyan University (2014, 2016-present)

 Allen was with the Nighthawks for one season and started 22 times and played in 22 games. In her one season, she dished 97 assists and scored 143 points, while pulling down 60 rebounds. She has the school record for assists in a game with nine.

 

Chris Archie – Allen University (2015-16)

 After one season with the Nighthawks men's basketball team, Archie signed with NAIA Division I Allen University. He played in seven games and grabbed 12 rebounds during the second semester in 2016.

 

Mortimer Berchie – West Virginia Wesleyan University (2015-17)

Berchie played two seasons for the NOVA men's basketball program and became the first student-athlete to score 1,000 points. During the 2015-16 season at NCAA Division II West Virginia Wesleyan, he played in 30 games with 21 starts. He finished his career with the Bobcats with 766 points.

 

Reace Bledsoe – North Greenville University (2016-present)

Bledsoe played two seasons with the Nighthawks lacrosse team. He played in 20 games with 15 goals and 14 assists. Bledsoe begins his first season at NCAA Division II North Greenville in the fall.



Cary Brown - Coastal Carolina (2017-present)

Brown ran two seasons for the NOVA cross country team. She was named all-region following her sophomore season, but ran personal best time of 22:05 at the 5k NJCAA Region 20 Championship in 2015, and at the 6k Hood College Open, Brown finished the race in 26:15.50 also in 2015.

 

Nathan Bushweller – Casleton University (2016-present)

Bushweller saw action in 19 games during his two seasons with the NOVA lacrosse squad. After taking a year off to finish his associates, Bushweller signed on to play at NCAA Division III Casleton. Played in five games, scored one goal and picked up five grounballs.



Michael Carswell - University of Mary Washington (2017-present)

Carswell played one season with the Nighthawks and saw action in 12 games and started 12 times. Led the team 24 goals and scored four or more goals in three games. Played in 10 games and gave an assist.

  

Greg Gowdy – Southern Virginia University (2015-16)

After two seasons with the Nighthawks lacrosse team, Gowdy played his final two years at NCAA Division III Southern Virginia. During his senior season, Gowdy played and started 16 games and gave one assist and had 33 ground balls. After his junior season he was named to the CAC All-Academic Team.

 

Zach Hart – UDC (2016-present)

Hart completed his two seasons with the lacrosse program in 2015. During that time he played in 25 games, scored 83 goals, gave 32 assists and forced 22 turnovers. Scored 41 goals and gave six assists and forced four turnovers.

 

Laron Hinton – UDC (2015-present)

Hinton played one season with the Nighthawks lacrosse team before moving on to NCAA Division II UDC. In his first season with the Firebirds, Hinton scored 13 goals, which was fourth on the team. Named second team All-ECC after scoring 41 goals and giving 16 assists as a junior.

 

Justin Hyde – Bellarmine University (Ky.) (2016-present)

Hyde played in 26 games for the Nighthawks in his two season with NOVA. He scored 28 goals, 28 assists anbd picked up 36 ground balls. Hyde begins his junior season in the fall at NCAA Division I Bellarmine University. 

 

Khalil Jabbie – California University of Pennsylvania (2014-16)

Jabbie played two seasons with the men's basketball team at NOVA just completed his final two year NCAA Division II Cal Pa. He started and played 56 games scored 606 points and gave 235 assists. He helped the Vulcans to 21 victories in his two years.

 


Shuaib Kamara  – Davis & Elkins College (2013-15)

Shuaib played one season with the Nighthawks men's basketball team. Transferred to NCAA Division II Davis and Elkins. In his two seasons with the Senators he plaued 35 games with 10 starts. He scored 165 points, grabbed 65 rebounds and gave 29 assists.

 

Simon Kilday – Springfield College (2013-14)

Played one season for the NOVA men's basketball team before moving on to NCAA Division III Springfield College. Played one season with the Pride where he played in 28 games with 17 starts. He scored 167 points and gave 36 assists.

 

Andrew Kim - Young Harris College (2013-14)

Andrew played two seasons for the Nighthawks before moving on to NCAA DivisionII  Young Harris. With the Mountain Lions, he played in 27 games scored six goals and picked up 131 ground balls.

 

Dawson Long – North Greenville University (2015-17)

Played two seasons with the Nighthawks and was named NJCAA All-Region 20 following his sophomore campaign. In his first year at NCAA Division II North Greenville, Long played in four games with three starts and helped the team to five wins. Played and started all 17 games third on the team with 12 caused turnovers.

 

Nelson Moreno - UDC (2015-16)

Played two seasons for the Nighthawks soccer team in 2012 and 2013 before moving on to NCAA Division II UDC. In his first season with the Firebirds he played and started all 17 games on defense. He scored his first NCAA goal against Mercy. Played in 16 games with 13 starts as a senior, and gave one assists.

 

Garrett Nealon (Marymount 2013-15)

Garrett played one season for the Nighthawks in 2012. After his one campaign with NOVA lacrosse he transferred to NCAA Division III Marymount. In his final three seasons, he scored 29 times, gave 40 assists and had 85 shots on goal

 

Ryan Ningard - Young Harris College (2013-14)

Ryan played one season with the NOVA lacrosse team before moving on to NCAA Division II Young Harris. He played in 28 games and scored 56 goals. His last second goal on senior day gave the Mountain Lions a one goal victory.

 

Jasmine Orsted – Bowie State University (2015-16)

Played the 2013-14 season with the Nighthawks women's basketball team before moving on to NCAA Division II Bowie State. Played in 25 games as a sophomore and helped lead the Bulldogs to the second round of the CIAA Tournament.

 

Aaron Paul - Shenandoah University (2013-15)

Aaron played one season with the Nighthawks first varsity lacrosse team before transferring to NCAA Division III Shenandoah. With the Hornets he played in 49 games in three seasons. He scored 69 goals, gave 22 assists, picked up 59 ground balls and caused 17 turnovers. 

 

Jeff Phelps – Florida Southern College (2016-present)

Played one season for the Nighthawks lacrosse team as the faceoff man. Begins his junior season in the fall with the NCAA Division II Florida Southern. As a Nighthawk he won a school record 23 faceoffs and scored a hat trick against Morris. Named second team All-SSC after winning 84 faceoffs and picking up 32 groundballs.

 

Jackie Reyes - UDC (2017-present)

Dressed for the Nighthawks lacrosse team for one season as the reserve goalie in 2016. Played in seven games for NOVA and made 10 saves. Made a season-best three saves at Ocean County. Signed with UDC to play on the women's lacrosse team in 2017.

 


Rachel Suttee - Greensboro College (2015-16)

Played two seasons for the NOVA volleyball team and helped the team to an NJCAA Region 20 championship in 2014. At NCAA Division III Greensboro she finished her career with 266 digs and 24 aces.

 

Michael West - Pfeiffer University (2016-17)

Played one season for the Nighthawks men's basketball team. He helped NOVA to its best record in program history. He scored a career-high 29 points at Thomas Nelson and also picked up four steals in the game. In the fall Michael begins his career at NCAA Division II Pfeiffer. Played in eight games and scored a season-best 13 points against Southern Wesleyan.

 

Korey Williams- Bluefield State (2017-present)

Played one season for the Nighthawks during the 2014-15 seasons. Helped to lead NOVA to the NJCAA Region 20 Division II title game. Finished third at NOVA in assists 128. Currently with NCAA Division II BSC he is averaging 20 points per game in three starts and in five games.
 

Terry Yarbrough – University of Detroit (2014-16)

Played one season with the Nighthawks lacrosse squad and scored 14 goals in 12 games and gave three assists. He has played two seasons with NCAA Division I Detroit.
