CATONSVILLE, Md. – Jordan Jones hit a career-high 22 points Tuesday night for the Northern Virginia Community College men's basketball team, however it was not enough as CCBC Catonsville downed the Nighthawks 109-72 in Region 20 action.
The Nighthawks fall to 6-12 and return to the hardwood Tuesday, Feb. 7 against Montgomery.
NOVA went into the locker room down 44-34 despite getting 11 points from Tariq Felder. Elijah Shanks, meanwhile, hit the Nighthawks one three-point field goal in the first half, while closing the period with five tallies.
The hunt three-point field goal continued into the second half as NOVA connected on just one long-range shot, while the Cardinals hit nine. Wesley Hardaway nailed the only three for the Nighthawks in the second period.
Jones, meanwhile, led NOVA with 13 points in the second 20 minutes and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the stripe. Felder and Addison Burgess also finished their evening in double figures, as the sophomores scored 19 and 14 points respectively.
