LARGO, Md. – Led by Addison Burgess, who had 21 points and 12 rebounds the Northern Virginia Community College men's basketball team hung on for the 67-64 victory over Prince George's Wednesday evening.
The Nighthawks improve to 7-15 and are back in action Saturday at Thomas Nelson with tipoff set for 5 p.m.
NOVA outrebounded the Owls 47-42, with Burgess and Tariq Felder each pulling down 12 apiece. The Nighthawks also took advantage of their free throws as well as the squad sunk 18-of-27 on the night.
Andreas Nikantzam also scored in double figures for NOVA as the freshman from Athens, Greece, tickled the twine for 15.
NOVA, who missed 19 three-point attempts Monday night finished the evening connecting on 5-of-17.
