NOVA comes up short in region battle

KEYSER, W.Va. –- The Northern Virginia Community College men's basketball team struggled from the field Saturday afternoon, as Potomac State downed the Nighthawks 79-68 in a Region 20 Division II contest inside Lough Gymnasium.

The Nighthawks go to 6-6 this season and return to the floor Monday at Howard beginning at 7 p.m. The game against the Dragons will be broadcast on NOVAathletics.com.

On Saturday, NOVA was led offensively by Muhammed Saadeldeen, who had a team-high 13 points. Also tallying double figures was Tavaris James, Drew Jackson and Frank Agyemang, who combined for 33 points.

However, from the floor the Nighthawks connected on just 21-of-65 and were 6-for-27 from the outside. NOVA, meanwhile, had a hot hand from the charity stripe, as the Nighthawks shot 20-of-22.
