CUMBERLAND, Md. – The Northern Virginia Community College men's basketball team struggled in the second half and fell 94-72 against No. 21 Allegany Friday evening inside Bob Kirk Arena.

The Nighthawks 2017-18 record goes to 8-8, and they return to action Sunday at Bryant & Stratton.

Michael Elliot nailed three field goals in the first half and scored eight points, while Tavaris Jamesadded 10 points. The Nighthawks, however, did not have the hot hand from beyond the three-point arc as they were just 2-for-10.

The cold shooting from three-point land continued for NOVA, as it hit just one from outside with Elliot connecting for the Nighthawks. Elliot finished the night with 17 points on 7-of-20 shooting from the floor.

Muhammed Saadeldeen, meanwhile, also hit a three-point shot for NOVA and scored 17 points, while James tacked on 16.
