ANNANDALE – Frank Agyemang drained a team-high 23 points to help give the Northern Virginia Community College men's basketball team a 93-57 victory over in-state rival Thomas Nelson Saturday afternoon.
The Nighthawks, who have won four straight improve to 12-8 on the year and return to the floor Monday against Potomac State at 7 p.m.
Agyemang and Michael Elliot led NOVA with four three's apiece, while Christian Riley added one from deep. For Agyemang, it was his fifth time this season he hit four or more trifectas in a game, while it was Elliot's second.
Three Nighthawks pulled down double digit rebounds with Junior Kabombo topping NOVA with 18 and Drew Jackson adding 14. Trevaun Hyatt, meanwhile, grabbed 10 boards to become the Nighthawks all-time leading rebounder, as he now has 355 rebounds.
Hyatt also currently ranks 10th in NOVA history in career points with 416 and he is five away from tying Simon Kilday for ninth.
