ANNANDALE – Northern Virginia Community College men’s basketball student-athletes Frank Agyemang and Muhammed Saadeldeen were named NJCAA Region 20 Division II All-Region Tuesday. The All-Region 20 team was voted on by the 10 coaches in the region.
Garnering a first team selection was Agyemang, who averaged 17.3 points per game, while Saadeldeen was an honorable mention pick after pouring in 14.3 a contest. Agyemang was tied for fourth in the region in scoring, while Saadeldeen was 12th.
Against Montgomery and Divison II foe Potomac State, Agyemang broke the school record for the most points in a game with 37. The Woodbridge, native also had six double-doubles during 2017-18 season and scored 20 or more points eight times.
Saadeldeen, meanwhile, heated up when the calendar flipped to February and averaged 20.5 points per game over the final 13 contests to lead NOVA. The Falls Church, native hit the 30-point mark against D-II foe Garrett and scored 20 or more points seven times as a freshman.
Agyemang becomes just the third Nighthawk to earn a first team selection, as he joins Mortimer Berchie and Samuel Taylor.
