The Nighthawks open the season Nov. 1 against Allegany inside Ernst Gymnasium and it will be the first time the two teams have met since Nov. 25, 2014. NOVA won the overtime battle 115-107 behind Korey Williams 26 points.
A week later, the Nighthawks host instate foe Richard Bland and then travel to Montgomery Nov. 11-12 and wrap up the three-game trip at Patrick Henry, which lost to the Nighthawks 129-32 in 2014.
To close out the first month of the season, NOVA host Sandhills Nov. 19 and following Thanksgiving welcome Patrick Henry to Annandale.
NOVA plays three games on the road and at home in December with Chesapeake (Dec. 7), Thomas Nelson (Dec. 15) and Southern Maryland (Dec. 18) making a visit to Annandale. The Nighthawks play at Hagerstown (Dec. 4) and the Charm City Classic Dec. 9-10.
Opening up 2018 portion of the slate, NOVA plays beltway rival Prince George's at home Jan. 22, as the Owls and Nighthawks played nail biter late last season with NOVA winning 67-64.
Also in the January, the Nighthawks travel to Region 20 foes Potomac State (Jan. 27) and Howard (Jan. 29).
Over the final month of the season, NOVA plays seven of its final 11 games at home with Anne Arundel (Feb. 1), CCBC Dundalk (Feb. 6), Potomac State (Feb. 15), Cecil (Feb. 21), Frederick (Feb. 27), CCBC Catonsville (March 1) and Garrett (March 5) all making a visit to Ernst.
This season the NOVA athletic department is broadcasting selected basketball games on the NOVA television channel and on social media. The Nighthawks will announce the broadcast schedule before the season begins.
