Nighthawks can’t get offense going

KEYSER, W.Va. – Joseph Germano scored three times to lead the Northern Virginia Community College lacrosse team, but the Nighthawks fell 21-3 to NJCAA Region 20 foe Potomac State Thursday evening on Stayman Field.

The Nighthawks fall to 0-3 on the season and return to the field Monday, April 9 at 6 p.m. against Anne Arundel.

Germano and Brian Luca each had seven shots against the Catamounts with Luca also picking up an assist on Germano's second goal of the day. Germano also led the Nighthawks with five shots on goal, while Luca added three.

In his two-year career at NOVA, Germano has now tallied 24 goals, which is tied for seventh all-time with the Nighthawks. He needs five more to move into third all-time, which would push him past Justin Hyde, who has 28.
