Nighthawks fall at fourth ranked Howard

COLUMBIA, Md. – Joseph Germano scored a second period goal, but the fourth best team in the country down the Northern Virginia Community College lacrosse team 23-1 Tuesday afternoon inside Dragon Stadium.

The Nighthawks fall to 1-6 on the season and return to action for the final time this season Thursday at 3 p.m. against CCBC Essex.

HCC scored the game's first seven goals before Germano put one into the back of net at the 10:11 mark of the second period. The Dragons then scored 16 unanswered goals to make it 23-1 with 5:43 left in the game.

Chaz Donovan made a career-high 17 saves, which ranks as the ninth most in program history tying Evan Schauss, who made 17 stops against CCBC Essex back in 2014.
