After the continuous rain that has fallen in northern Virginia, the Nighthawks game at Christendom has been postponed. Both institutions are working on a makeup date. NOVA's game against Union County is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 14 at Prince George's.
The leading goal scorer for the Nighthawks is Abdullah Al Maari, who has tallied four scores this year. Bimosan Ghmire and Max Medrano, meanwhile, have each hit the back of the net twice. The three leading goal scorers have eight of the Nighthawks 13 goals.
Coming off of a trip to New York, the Nighthawks went 2-1 and will play two region opponents Monday for their only action of the week. A season ago, NOVA defeated Harford in four sets, and Montgomery in five inside Ernst Gymnasium.
In New York, Brittany Conatser led the Nighthawks offense with 43 kills, while Sarah Abisourour had 51 assists. Defensively, NOVA averaged 1.1 blocks per set, as Deveis Wooten had five of the teams 11 blocks.
