ANNANDALE – Jalita Montgomery's nailed a career-best 29 points, and Mikaela Cunningham finished with a double-double, however it was not enough as the Northern Virginia Community College women's basketball team fell 92-62 to Montgomery in Region 20 action Tuesday night.

Genesis Flores, who scored five points on the night got NOVA within a bucket with 20 seconds left in the first half. After a MC missed a three, Cunningham was able to secure the rebound and then Caitlyn Riley sank a fastbreak layup at the buzzer to the tie the game at 34.
In the third quarter, Montgomery hit the bottom of the net from long range to give the Nighthawks a one point lead. That however, would be the last lead for NOVA, as the Raptors outscored the Nighthawks 52-21 the rest of the way.
