BALTIMORE – Jalita Montgomery finished up with a team-high 12 points, but the Northern Virginia Community College women's basketball team dropped an 81-41 decision to NJCAA Region 20 opponent Chesapeake Sunday afternoon.
The Nighthawks fall to 3-6 and return to the floor Wednesday when they travel to region foe Hagerstown for 6 p.m. tip.
NOVA struggled from the floor Sunday, as it shot 12-of-67 and 0-for-4 from the beyond the three-point arc. Taylor Lynch led the Nighthawks shooting performance as she was 3-for-6 from the field.
Cleaning the glass for NOVA was Bilan Hajinur, Tiya Anderson and Lynch, who combined to grab 16 of the 33 rebounds. As a team, the Nighthawks pulled down 17 offensive rebounds with Hajinur grabbed a team-best three.
