MCHENRY, Md. – Playing in her final match for the Northern Virginia Community College volleyball team, Nikola Knapova led the Nighthawks with nine kills, but it was not enough as they fell in the NJCAA Region 20 Championship match to Potomac State (20-25, 17-25, 19-25).

The eight-match winning streak came to halt and the Nighthawks finished the 2017 season 19-13.

NOVA's offense struggled to get going from the start as the unit hit. 032 with nine kills in the opening set. Knapova led the Nighthawks with three kills, while Tiara Jones and Star Mebane-Uriarte added two each.

It was all PSC in the second frame, as the Catamounts smacked 13 kills and also added four block assists, while the Nighthawks had 10 attack errors and just eight kills.

Following a Knapova kill in the third set, the Nighthawks were leading 19-17, but NOVA could not capitalize on the momentum. The Catamounts finished the set on an 8-0 run -- with the Catamounts smacking down four kills.
