ANNANDALE – Following a 19-win 2017 season, the Northern Virginia Community College volleyball team has announced the signing of Brittany Connatser and Deveis Wooten to a letter of intent.
Connatser joins the Nighthawks from Robinson High School, where she was named first team all-conference as a senior after totaling over 230 kills. As a junior, the Fairfax, native was named second team all-conference, as she hit .210.
Off of the court, Connatser was a member of the A/B Honor Roll.
“We are very fortunate to have Brittany with us this season,” said head coach Marcus Robinson. “The 6-foot tall outside/right side hitter touches 10 feet, and her high volleyball IQ makes Brittany a high-flying athlete that can impact our program in numerous positions. We are ecstatic to see the impact she will make on our program now and next season.”
Wooten, meanwhile, is a Brooke Point High School graduate in Stafford, where she was a member of the volleyball team all four years. As a senior, Wooten was named team captain and garnered second team all-district accolades and a first team all-region honor.
Inside the classroom, Wooten earned a perfect attendance card.
“We are thrilled to add Deveis to our team this year,” Robinson said. “This is a very athletic and gifted player for her size. She has a 'pop' to her game which can be seen in her jumping and hitting ability. She moves well and has a very nice smooth flow to her game. She is a very likeable teammate and is very coachable.”
Connatser and Wooten become the first student-athletes to sign with the Nighthawks volleyball program this offseason.
