After seeing a six-game winning streak come to an end last week at Garrett, NOVA got back to its winning ways Saturday with an 86-67 victory over Thomas Nelson. The Nighthawks, who only dressed six at TNC were led by Robert Tarrt's 30 points and Deontae Compton's 19-point afternoon.
NOVA is currently tied for fifth place in the NJCAA Region 20 Division II standings and has two games left on the D-II slate. Those remaining games are with eighth place Southern Maryland and fifth place counterpart Cecil.
Since the calendar flipped to January, the Nighthawks have won five of six and has moved into seventh place in the Region 20 Division II standings. NOVA had four games left against D-II foes this season with two of those contests against teams behind the Nighthawks and two sitting in front.
In the final non-region game of the year at Thomas Nelson, the Nighthawks were led by Mia Buchanon's 28 points. Naiomi Green, meanwhile, scored a season-best 13 points off the bench in NOVA's 100-44 win.
The Overwatch team continues to remain perfect this spring, as they moved to 7-0 this season, while the League of Legends squad is 1-3. Overwatch wraps up the regular season Wednesday with the postseason on the horizon.
