Winter weather pushed the Nighthawks game against Allegany from Feb. 11 to Feb. 25, but with a win over the Trojans NOVA guarantees itself a record over .500. The Nighthawks started the season 3-9, but have since gone 9-1.
The Nighthawks will either be the fourth or the fifth seed in the upcoming NJCAA Region 20 Division II Tournament. If Frederick defeats Potomac State Monday, the Cougars hvae the tiebreaker over the Nighthawks and hold the fourth spot and would be the home team against NOVA in the first round of the region tournament at Cecil.
Mia Buchanon, who has scored 341 points during the 2018-19 campaign, passed Jonee' Finney for the fifth most points season. The Woodbridge, native is 37 points from moving into the fourth spot, which is held by Jalita Montgomery.
Career wise, Natasha Porter is now second all-time at NOVA in career scoring with 620 points, and has become just the third Nighthawk to score over 500 points, as she joins Finney (569) and Montgomery (976).
