Nighthawks drop fourth straight

HICKORY, N.C. – The Northern Virginia Community College volleyball team fell for the fourth consecutive time Saturday, as the Nighthawks lost in straight sets to St. Johns River and Bob Jones.

NOVA sees its record go to 9-7 on the year, and return to action Tuesday at NJCAA Region 20 Division II rival Potomac State at 7 p.m.

During Saturday's action, the Nighthawks were led by Brittany Connatser and Deveis Wooten, who combined for 39 kills. Sarah Abisourour, meanwhile, gave 46 of the teams 53 assists, as NOVA averaged 8.8 assists per set.

Errors were NOVA's kryptonite, as it was called for 68 errors between the two matches, which includes 25 attack miscues. As a team, the Nighthawks hit.168, but Connatser led NOVA with a .333 attack percentage.
