NOVA falls twice Saturday

PETERSBURG, Va. – It was a tough Saturday afternoon for the Northern Virginia Community College volleyball team, as the unit dropped straight set decisions to Monroe (25-9, 25-23, 25-14) and Richard Bland (25-20, 25-11, 25-16).

The Nighthawks, who are 8-7 this season return to the court Tuesday when they travel to Southern Maryland for a 6 p.m. first serve.

Brittany Connatser led NOVA with 13 kills between the two matches, while Ivana Jorge and Deveis Wooten added nine kills apiece. As a team, the Nighthawks hit just .050 Saturday as they struggled to find an offensive rhythm.
