WASHINGTON, D.C. – Running in her first intercollegiate race, Tyler Means finished 10th Saturday in the 5-kilometer Howard Labor Day Classic at Kenilworth Park.
Melanie White of Howard won the individual title with a time of 20 minutes, 28.61 seconds, while Catholic won the team championship with 33 points.
Means, who was the only Nighthawk runner, finished in 22:04.65, which was less than 10 seconds behind ninth place Zoe Zelch of Catholic. The Sterling, Va., natives time currently puts her in sixth place in the NOVA record books.
The Nighthawks return to the course Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Navy Invitational in Annapolis.
